I am an only child, and I love it.
And NO... I'm not spoiled.

The PISCES in me is very emotional and an idealist,
quiet and shy, short-tempered but considerate.

I will never again enjoy eating ADOBO.

I hate cigarette SMOKE but not the SMOKER.

I could either be a believer or a non-believer of GHOSTS.
Either way I'm scared of them.

My craving for attention is the complete OPPOSITE of my craving for FOOD.

I believe in the POWER of SUGGESTION, just as I believe in SIGNS.

I wanted to believe in TRUE LOVE, but the world has taught me NOT TO.

I believe that ALL people are intellectuals, only most of us opt not to show it.

I LOVE the aroma and taste of COFFEE.
Drinking it is one of the greatest pleasures in life.

I'm afraid of FAILURE, but it can NEVER destroy me.

I do my best not to try to PLEASE other people,
because I consider such thing... Mission Impossible.

I DARE to be different whenever possible.
It's a way to give others the chance not to LIKE me.
I do not really get along with people who consequently follow the status quo.

I have a great value for EDUCATION.
And in order for people to earn my respect,
they must show the same importance.

I love DOGS. They are one of the few things that give joy to my life.

I love my FAMILY.
There will be nothing better than being able to share my life and achievements with them.

I can easily fall in love even with a person who shows the SMALLEST efforts.
Likewise, I fall out of love just as quickly.

My TEACHER is experience,
My driver is PURPOSE,
My companion is DEATH.

I embrace the prospect of death.
Doing so makes me want to take more risks,
and in effect... to ENJOY LIFE more.

Organ Donation is my newly found personal ADVOCACY.
I'm presenting people with the option of possibly being an organ donor.
I believe that this is a way for me to bring back to the UNIVERSE whatever great things it has offered me.

I'd rather die than be LATE!

For years, I have endured having a MIGRAINE.

Whenever I say "NO!", I ALWAYS mean it.
I have tantamount RESPECT for others' decisions.
That too, is what I wish in return.

Somehow, I've learned not to trust ANYONE who says, "TRUST ME!".

Reading BOOKS may transpire boredom to other people.
However, for me, that is not the case. I enjoy reading very much.
It gives me the avenue to go places I have never been to,
or may never be given the chance to visit someday.

I write. It is my solace.

I hate it when people INSIST that I'm wrong in situations when
I'm ABSOLUTELY, most certainly sure that I'm RIGHT.

Being an Obsessive-Compulsive, I like things to always be planned and organized.
Spontaneity is really NOT my thing.

The PERFECT example of determination and PERSEVERANCE,
is the one who EPITOMIZES these qualities... Live Strong!

Success, for me, is NOT monetary.
It is being able to fulfill the DESTINY that was intended for me to follow.

STRUGGLES are a part of life.
And I thank God for every opportunity to face them,
because from this, I derive my strength.

Responsibility is the key note of my life.

A FRIEND of literature,
A lover of KNOWLEDGE,
A DEFENDER of learning.

A little strange,
ADORED by some,
Disliked by MANY.

Created by GOD,
BELIEVER of God,
Advocate FOR God.

Weak at HEART, and IMPERFECT in so many ways...

God is EVERYTHING. I am NOTHING compared to him.
But through his grace, I can be everything HERE on earth.

HENRY JAMES wrote,
'Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living, and your belief will help create the fact.'

LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC !!!

Copeland - Chin Up
www.youtube.com

Earlier today, my friend Gav directed me to a certain music website where I learned about this song. (SHOUT OUT: HELLO GAV!!!) :)
Well, needless to say, but I loved it.
The lyrics is pretty self-explanatory, so here it is;

With your eyes closed,
Watching a strange show
Play out in your head,
But you were smiling somehow
And your day froze,
And everyone in it
Sat still as a rose,
But we were moving somehow.

Back to where we started,
Losing who we were,
Maybe we should only
Tip a bottle back to keep us filled up.

Back to where we started,
Losing who we were,
Everybody knows that,
You’d break your neck to keep your chin up.

Open your eyes,
And the drops come,
And a snail raced down to your neck,
And looked up,
But you were smiling somehow.

Back to where we started,
Losing who we were,
Maybe we should only
Tip a bottle back to keep us filled up.

Back to where we started,
Losing who we were,
Everybody knows that
You’d break your neck to keep your chin up.

They say it's about a girl who would go great to lengths to put up a happy and brave front when in all actuality, she's really lonely and disappointed inside. To me, the line "You'd break your neck to keep your chin up" means that she does not want people to know that she's hurting, so she'd rather keep the pain to herself, and pretend that everything is ok even though it's not, just to keep her pride.

Somehow, I can relate.
It's a really sad song, but it's very well written.
:(

Tama na. Nagiging emo nanaman ako!!! LOL

TRY THIS! It's quite funny...

I have been ill since yesterday so I stayed at home and do pretty much... nothing. So, I went online to look for something fun to do. And this is what I found, a psychology test. This is how it works, there is a series of questions and you have to answer the FIRST THING that comes to your mind. Do not think of the question too much. Remember, the first thing that comes to mind. You can write your answer on a piece of paper if you want. Ready? GO.

1. You are walking in the woods. Who are you walking with? _____________

2. You see an animal. What kind of animal is it? ________________

3. What kind of interaction takes place between you and the animal? ___________

4. You walk deeper into the woods. You enter a clearing and before you is your dream house. Describe its size. ____________

5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence? ________

6. You enter the house. You see the dining table. What is on or around the table? _________

7. You exit the house. You see a cup. What material is the cup made of? ________

8. What do you do with the cup? _________

9. You walk to the edge of the property, where you find yourself standing at the edge of a body of water. What type of body of water is it? ____________

10. How will you cross the water?____________

ANALYSIS :
The answers given to the questions have been shown to have a relevance to values and ideals that we hold in our personal lives. The analysis follows: (Insert your answers on the blanks)

4. You walk deeper in the woods. You enter a clearing and before you is your Dream House. It is _________. The size of your dream house is representative of the size of your ambition to resolve your problems.

5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence? You answered _______. No fence is indicative of an open personality. People are welcome at all times. The presence of a fence indicates a closed personality. You'd prefer people not to drop by unannounced.

6. You enter the house. You walk to the dining area and see the dining table. ________ are on and around the table. If your answer did not include food, people, or flowers, then you are generally unhappy.

7. You exit the house through the back door. Lying in the grass is a cup. The cup is made of ___________. The durability of the material with which the cup is made of is representative of the perceived durability of your relationship with _______(Refer to number 1). For example, styrafoam, plastic, and paper are all disposable, styrofoam, paper and glass are not durable, and metal and plastic are durable.

Abi's Mindless Ramblings

I had a long day.

After getting home from the hospital, I spent most of the afternoon learning "La Langue Francais" with my newest favorite person, Michel Thomas. Though I got thoroughly confused with all the "avez vous", the "voulez vous", and the "avec vous", it was "generalement" fun. And needless to say, I learned a lot. And I'm doing it again tomorrow for another session.

Which reminds me. Just assuming that he reads this. A shout out to my friend, Manu in France. Allo Manu!

Anyway, after the lesson, I went to the bank to pay Jeff's tuition fee. Then I paid the internet bill. Then, I went out looking for a beret that looks exactly like this, especially the the color, which is hot pink.

Unfortunately, I did not find one. I guess we don't sell berets in this country. I'll keep looking when I'm free. Saturday, maybe. However, I did find a really cute "bolero". It was so cheap, I bought two. One in black and one in bluish gray. The black one looked perfect with my black dress which I both wore to the party tonight.

I'm tired right now but I'm still totally pumped, so I am now spending my time writing this blog entry.

BTW, for the people who need clarification about the California application for the NCLEX-RN, please do not hesitate to ask me. I am always at your disposal. And it's FREE! :) Likewise, I also know a thing or two about the IELTS examination. I used to teach it. So, if you have questions, just fire away and I'll get to you as soon as I can and to the best of my knowledge.

Yashmin texted me the other day asking if I could accompany her to watch the movie "New Moon". I am not a big fan of this "Twilight Saga". One can even say that I hate it. But since I want to spend time with her, I said yes. we will go see the movie before this week is over.

I got to talk to Erika tonight, she was complaining that the Nurse Licensure Exam she took was nothing short of a "Nose Bleed". :) Erika if you're reading this, I believe that you passed that test. Don't worry. We'll celebrate in 2 months!

I think that's it. I'm going to lie down now.
Au revoir!

The Big Romantic Gesture...

Grow old with you from irasandino at youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CYI5bKZMes

Haaayy... I guess every girl dreams of the big romantic gesture from that special person. I wish that something like this happens to me. Yeah, yeah.. I know, as it turned out, I am just as big a hopeless romantic as anyone else. Sue me, okay! Anyway, I want this. I want to fall crazy in love with a guy. Someone who will sweep me off my feet, and love me back no matter what. And I don't want just any kind of love. I want the -- (and I quote a line from the movie ''It Takes Two") -- "I want the CAN'T EAT, CAN'T SLEEP, REACH FOR THE STARS, OVER THE MOON, WORLD SERIES kind of love." I WANT IT. The question is... where the hell is it? It already feels like I've waited forever. Ha! look at me, I am such a fool for love, I admit. It's crazy. I'M CRAZY!

Abi's Mindless Ramblings

I woke up early this morning, like 5:30AM, despite the lack of work for today. Then proceeded to doing my laundry. Then I cleaned my room. Now, I feel like I'm about to get sick.

Somehow, I managed to injure myself. I was about to wash the dishes when the knife fell to the ground and hit my foot. It's a small wound but it was bleeding for a couple of minutes.

A shout out to my friends Erika and Tin who are about to take the Nurse Licensure Exam tomorrow. I believe you guys will pass it. God Bless.

I still don't know what to wear for Nana Let's party on Wednesday.

Abi's Mindless Ramblings

Today I watched the new episode of How I met Your Mother (Slapsgiving 2; The Revenge of the Slap) like 6 times because I can't get enough of it. It's so funny. I wish there's a new episode everyday. hahaha

On a completely unrelated note, I was at Facebook today minding my own business when suddenly something went horribly wrong. My curiosity got the better of me and now I ended up deeply hurt and on the verge of tears.

Anyway, this afternoon I was on a jeepney and I heard the song "Next thing you know" by Matthew West. I liked the song very much. It's about finding God.

Oh, and I'm still waiting for my next IVT completion schedule.

PASTA, ANYONE ?!

My friend Erika is about to take the Local Boards for Nurses a couple of weeks from now. Being the supportive friend that I am (naks! kapal..), I accompanied her to the Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus in Manila for the weekly novena (alam mo na, divine intervention, hehe). She'll be coming from school so I had to meet her at SM Val. We had lunch at Pizza Hut.

Eka & Abi @ Pizza Hut

After the Novena, we dined yet again at a small place opposite the church (takaw noh?!). It's called the "Amazing Cones" -- Pizza in a cone. Yes, you got it right, it's PIZZA IN A CONE!!! Hey, you have to admit, that's quite intriguing.

Crazy huh?!

MARUNONG KA BA MAGTAGALOG?

Sa US Embassy, isang lalaki na hindi marunong mag-english ay may kasamang interpreter sa interview....

American Consul: Why would I grant you a visa to the United States, you don't even know how to speak english?

(tinagalog ng interpreter para sa lalaki)

Lalaki: Bakit ikaw, nasa Pilipinas ka marunong ka ba magtagalog?

(iningles ng interpreter para sa consul)

Resulta: Multiple entry Visa

"Marunong ka ba magtagalog?", 'yan ang madalas kong tanong sa mga kababayan nating Pinoy na laking Tate. 'Pag sinabi nilang "oo", sasabihin ko, "hay salamat! 'kala ko dudugo na ilong ko e!" (sabay tawa). 'Pag sinabi naman nilang "No." o "Just a little.", sasabihin ko, "Bakit??" (kunot-noo).

Pilipino : Tagalog Amerikano : Ingles

Maliwanag naman 'diba. Paano mo nasabi na "I am Filipino, and I am proud to be one."

IRONY IN THE LIBRARY

Only recently did I find the library as a place to read and study. When I was still a Nursing student, The library served me and my friends well. Not to study, I can do that at home. It was the perfect place to kill time through chattering with each other. All those years I spent in the University, I can say that I've had a fair share of reprimand from the librarian, for creating noise. I don't know with you, but in the main library in the University from which I came from, The librarian has her own style. She doesn't just utter "Shhhhhh...!" like any normal libarian would.

First: She hears soft buzzing sound of students' whispers which you may commonly encouter. If she notices ---(I use 'she' because most librarians are female) If she notices that the buzzing is getting louder and louder by the millisecond, she rings this bell she has on her desk... as if her life depended on it, and to call everyone's attention saying "Please shut up!"--- without even speaking a word. This 'general approach' works for about 30 seconds, until the silence gives rebirth to yet another buzzing sound.

Second: The librarian spots the exact group producing this more pronounced (needless to say, more annoying) sound than everyone else's. And as if on cue, she storms to your table and next thing you know she already placed this huge place card at the middle of your table which reads: "Observe silence". And everybody else stares at you and your friends as if you did something criminal. And if that's not embarassing enough, here's the

Third: If she spots this person who insists on muttering inside her library, she will approach this person and tell him/her to leave the premises, (well, at least that's what I think she said, this never happened to me) because the 'culprit' immediately leaves the library.

Anyhow, now that I've already graduated, I need a place to study for the State Boards. So I stay a lot in the same library (to study, of course!). But as the irony of life would have it, the students wouldn't shut up. They remind me of, well... me! hahaha., I never thought I was THAT annoying. Today, I was at the library, totally absorbed by what I was reading, when something happened which I found very amusing, ironic even. This incident is in fact the inspiration of this essay. The librarian accidentally dropped something heavy to the floor, (i'm guessing it's a wooden box, i really wouldn't know) but it made a very loud, crashing sound. Then, to my surprise, almost every person in the library, as if evrybody mentally agreed that the moment of revenge had finally come, the crowd uttered a very loud, very long, and very distinct "Shhhhhhhhhh.....!"
